April 10, 2010

The Strite family - Easter 2010 Sunday was a lovely Easter Day.  We got around in good time and tried to take a few family pictures with the camera balanced on a step ladder...  Some turned out reasonably decent.  This morning was Aaron Heatwole's baptism.  Bro. Mark preached on "How the Resurrection Affects our Past, Present & Future".    Since it hadn't worked out for my new accountability group to meet on the scheduled evening, I invited them over here for dinner and to spend some time in the afternoon.  We marinated T-bone steaks and Ina Sue made us ranch potatoes, a salad, and strawberry shortcake.
Picking flowers. Unfortunately, Ryan D. had a migraine headache but Kevin P. and Darren D. joined us for lunch.  We had a nice time of sharing in the afternoon.  Kevin had to go on a fire dept call mid-afternoon and Darren headed home to help with the milking.  We got short naps then went to the mule barn for a picnic with Andys, Adens, and Gordons.  Subs, relish trays, salties, bars & ice cream for supper.  Good friends and relaxed conversation for the evening.  A great evening!  The children enjoyed playing around the pond.
Ready for church. I went to work on Monday and Ina Sue did the laundry.  I came home a little early in the evening and after supper kept the children while Ina Sue went to meet with her accountability group.  Kendra B. is the leader along with Valletta H., Emily D. and Carolyn H.  Ina Sue said the evening went well.  While she was gone the children and I went for a walk and put down pinestraw on the front shrubbery.
"Eatin boiled p-nuts"  Like father, like daughter. Ina Sue worked on finishing up the laundry on Tuesday.  I was at work all day.  After I got home and we ate a delicious supper of asparagus lasagna and carrots, I planted some more plants in the garden, put down more pine straw then finished up by cleaning our dirty oven.  The oven cleaner is not good for pregnant ladies so I was happy to take over the messy job this time.
Supper on the screened porch. After I left for work on Wednesday, Ina Sue and Carolina Sue made up a monster batch of monster cookies.  Ina Sue washed windows and swept pollen off the front porch.  We had roast beef subs for supper then headed to church for prayer meeting.  This evening was entirely used up in personal sharing and prayer time instead of having a study period.
These guys should still be in bed... Off to work again for me on Thursday.  Betty and Carolyn Heatwole picked up the two oldest children and took them along with the sewing circle to go Easter caroling.  The children always enjoy singing for the old folks.  Ina Sue spent her morning washing, baking bread and cleaning.  I came home for about a half hour around 4:00 to paint a piece of plywood then take it back to work in my pickup.  I hired Todd Hochstetler to come in and help me with a networking installation in the evening/night.  We terminated and labled about 125 network drops.  Didn't get home until about 1:00am.
Planting the potter with mother. I made it out of bed Friday morning and was back at work at the normal time.  Ina Sue cleaned in the morning then had an appointment with our midwife at 11:00.  Everything still lookin good!  We are so thankful that our midwife makes house calls instead of Ina Sue having to load all the children up and drive an hour and a half....  We had spaghetti pie and green beans for supper.  After supper I mowed around and mulched our new blueberry plants.  Ina Sue cleaned pollen and my old sawdust off of the back porch.  Mocha milkshakes for dessert.
Saturday was a wonderful and busy day.  I got up at sunup and started filling in a few of our irrigation ditches in the back part of the yard that have not been filled yet.  Ina Sue made us an asparagus puff pancake for brunch.  After brunch we all got in the van and drove in to Barnwell to pick up some supplies that I needed.  We also stopped at Adams Nursery and picked up some plants for Ina Sue to put in a potter for the front porch.  In the afternoon, Ina Sue planted her potter while I mowed.  Then she cooked and cleaned while I washed the car.  Knocked off around 8:00...
